Collection: Balance Bikes

A balance bike teaches balance first and pedalling second — which is the order a child's body actually learns in. The child pushes with their feet, feels the bike lean, and corrects it. Once that is automatic, pedals are a small addition rather than a new skill, and the training-wheel stage disappears entirely.

Our range is built around the leg&go 3-in-1, a wooden bike from Latvia that adapts as the child grows: a tricycle setup for the youngest riders, a balance bike from around 18 months, a rocker for the indoor months before riding starts, and a pedal add-on for the moment balancing is mastered. One frame, five setups, roughly ages 1 to 5.

The frame is bent Baltic birch plywood, which flexes enough to absorb road shocks, and the whole bike weighs 3.3 kg — about a fifth of a toddler's body weight, which is what makes it liftable, carryable and rideable without adult help. Inflatable tyres and alloy rims, seat height adjustable from 25 to 47 cm, 5-year warranty.
