Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Tiny Toivo. We curate Montessori toys, wooden toys and children's furniture from manufacturers across the EU – pieces chosen for how children really play, learn and grow, and made to be passed on from one child to the next.

Below you'll find answers to the questions we're asked most often. For anything else, we're happy to advise at toivo@tinytoivo.com.

Shipping & delivery

Which countries do you ship to?

We deliver to Finland and Sweden. Customers in Sweden shop and pay in Swedish kronor (SEK).

How much does shipping cost?

  • Standard delivery: €6.90 – free on orders over €99
  • Furniture home delivery: €16.90 – free on orders over €179

The final shipping cost is always shown at checkout before payment.

How fast will my order arrive?

Most orders arrive within 5–8 business days. Products made to order have a longer delivery time – see below.

Are some products made to order?

Yes. When a product is not in stock, some items are made to order by the manufacturer – including our furniture, for example from One Little Pine and Oakhill, and Moi Mili bed canopies. Your piece is then crafted specifically for your order, with a typical delivery time of about two weeks. The standard 14-day right of withdrawal still applies, unless the product has been personalised.

How is my order delivered?

Most orders are delivered to a pickup point or parcel locker near you. Larger items, such as furniture, are delivered to your home address. We work mainly with DPD and its local delivery partners.

How can I track my parcel?

You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order has shipped. Tracking is usually active within one business day.

Ordering & payment

How do I place an order?

Add the products to your cart, proceed to checkout and choose your payment method. You'll receive an order confirmation by email immediately.

Which payment methods can I use?

  • Card payments: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and American Express
  • Klarna – available when the store currency is set to euros (EUR)
  • MobilePay
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Shop Pay

Can I change or cancel my order?

Usually yes, provided the order has not yet been packed. Contact us as soon as possible at toivo@tinytoivo.com.

I didn't receive an order confirmation.

Please check your spam or promotions folder first. If it isn't there, contact us and we'll resend it.

Returns & refunds

Can I return a product?

Yes. You can request a return within 30 days of the order date. The product must be unused and in its original condition and packaging, with its tags. Personalised products and personal hygiene products cannot be returned. Customers in the EU also have the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.

How do I make a return?

Please contact us at toivo@tinytoivo.com before sending anything back. Once your return is approved, we'll send you a return label and instructions. Parcels sent without an approved return cannot be accepted.

How much does a return cost?

  • Toys, shoes and clothing: €8.90
  • Furniture: €18.90

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return has arrived and been inspected, we'll refund you to your original payment method within 10 business days.

My product arrived damaged, or I received the wrong item.

We're sorry to hear that. Please inspect your order on arrival and contact us right away with photos of the product and its packaging. We'll resolve the matter promptly.

Choosing the right product

From what age can a child use a Pikler triangle?

The right age depends on the model. Our leg&go Pikler triangle, for example, is designed for children from 6 months to 7 years: babies use the rungs to pull themselves up to standing, while older children climb, slide and practise balance. Each product page states the age range and maximum load. For smaller spaces we recommend our foldable climbing triangle – it folds flat against the wall and offers two incline settings: a gentler one for beginners and a steeper one for confident climbers.

Which learning tower should I choose?

Most of our learning towers suit children from around 1–1.5 years up to 6, with a platform that adjusts as the child grows. Our recommendation depends on your home:

  • Limited space: a foldable tower that can be stored away after use.
  • A toddler table as well: a convertible tower that becomes a table and chair.
  • Everyday use beyond the kitchen: a tower with a chalkboard panel that doubles as a drawing board.

Does the furniture need to be assembled?

It depends on the product. Some, such as our foldable learning tower, arrive fully assembled and unfold in seconds; others require simple assembly. If you're unsure, ask us before ordering.

Are your products safe?

All toys sold in the EU must meet the EU toy safety requirements and carry the CE marking. Many of our climbing frames and learning towers are also tested to the EN 71 toy safety standard. The age recommendation, maximum load and certificates are listed on each product page.

Where are your products made?

All our products come from manufacturers within the EU. We work with a carefully selected group of makers whose materials, craftsmanship and safety standards we know well – rather than offering an endless range.

For nurseries, schools and associations

Do you work with nurseries, schools and associations?

Yes. For larger orders we prepare a quote with volume pricing and actual delivery costs. Municipalities, parishes and registered associations can pay by invoice, and we provide safety documentation for your procurement file. Tell us the size of the space and the age group, and we'll propose a complete set. You'll receive a reply within two working days.

About Tiny Toivo

Who is behind Tiny Toivo?

Tiny Toivo was founded in Iisalmi, Finland, by a mother who watched her son explore, build and learn – and noticed how few children's products were made to last. Our selection is built on that same conviction: children's things should be beautiful, durable and worth passing on.

Where does the name come from?

Toivo is Finnish for hope – a belief in possibility and in the future. It is the idea behind everything we select.

Does Tiny Toivo support a good cause?

Yes. Part of every purchase supports children's art education in Finland, because we believe creativity is one of the most valuable things a child can develop.

How can I contact you?

By email at toivo@tinytoivo.com. We reply in Finnish, Swedish and English on business days, and every message receives a personal answer.
