Parents' questions about soft play sets

What are soft play blocks for?

They are gross-motor equipment rather than building toys: climbing, crawling, carrying and balancing train strength, coordination and body awareness. Because the pieces are light, a child can rebuild the set alone, so the play stays their own.

Which set for which age?

As a rule of thumb: 5 pieces for a crawling baby, 6–8 for a toddler who walks and climbs, and 8–10 once a child builds their own courses or plays with siblings. Always check the manufacturer's age guidance for the specific set.

How much space do I need?

The sets in this comparison take roughly 0.8–1.6 m² when built as pictured; the Creativity set is two builds side by side. Leave free floor around the build, because jumping down is part of the play. Stacked away, a 5-piece set fits in a corner.

Can I combine sets later?

Yes, pieces from different sets can be played with together. Note that the Corner Climber is sized on a 48 cm module and the other three on 40 cm, so heights line up best within the same size family.

Are soft play blocks safe?

The IGLU sets are CE marked under the EU toy safety rules and certified in the EU, UK, USA and Canada; the foam is BPA and phthalate free and the zips are hidden. Use the blocks on a rug or play mat rather than a slippery floor, and stay close while a young child climbs.

How do I clean them?

Wipe the eco-leather cover with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not wash the foam itself.
