Collection: Activity Toys
An activity board gives a child a real task to work at alone. Latches, locks, zips, beads and gears ask for concentration — and buy you ten quiet minutes.
Board or house?
A wall board is mounted at the child's height and stays put; it suits a nursery wall and a child who returns to the same task. A freestanding activity house can be moved between rooms and worked at from several sides, which suits shared play and smaller homes.
What size?
Size follows how the board will be used, not the child's age alone. 30 × 40 cm is portable: it works on a bed, a sofa or the floor, and it is the right first board for a baby exploring cause and effect. 40 × 60 cm is the everyday size — enough activities to hold attention, small enough for a nursery wall. 60 × 70 and 60 × 80 cm are for a child who has outgrown the first board and wants more to do.
Wall or floor?
Anything from 40 × 60 cm upwards is made to be screwed to a wall. A mounted board is steadier to work at and cannot tip. The 30 × 40 cm boards are made to be carried.
What the child practises
Opening and closing, threading, turning, matching. Fine motor control, problem solving, and the patience to see something through — the Montessori idea that a child concentrates longest on a task that is genuinely difficult but achievable.
Materials and safety
Handmade from plywood and solid wood, finished with child-safe water-based paint. Made in Europe. Adult supervision is recommended during play, and wall-mounted boards should be fixed with the screws supplied.
