A Montessori toy isn't a label a manufacturer prints on a box. It is a toy built around one skill at a time, made of materials a child can feel and weigh, and designed so the child can see for themselves whether it worked — the block fits the hole or it doesn't, the discs go on in one order. No batteries, no flashing lights, no adult saying "well done".

This collection gathers the toys in our range that work that way: shape sorters, stacking pyramids, wooden puzzles, building blocks and sorting materials. All of them are made in Europe — most in small family workshops in Poland, Latvia and Estonia — from solid wood and birch plywood, finished either with child-safe water-based lacquer or with beeswax and vegetable oils.

Choosing by age

  • Under 1: things to grasp, drop and find again — weight and texture matter more than function.
