Collection: Nesna Lobben

Nesna Lobben makes felt boots in the Norwegian tradition: boiled 100% wool, moulded non-slip soles and wool felt insoles. Light, very warm and breathable — made for dry winter cold, outdoors and in.

Rubber-soled felt boots are not house slippers

Most felt slippers are meant for indoors only. These have a moulded polyurethane sole with deep grooves that grips snow and ice. They work as proper outdoor winter boots — the yard, the school run, walking the dog, the woodshed, snowshoeing, the cottage steps. Indoors they breathe, so feet do not sweat the way they do in rubber-soled slippers.

Warm feet for the one standing still

Children do not get cold outside. Children run. The one who gets cold is the adult standing by the sandpit, waiting at the bottom of the sledding hill, or clearing the yard while someone else plays.

This is the pair that lives by the door and goes on in a second when it is time to go out.

Which model should I choose?

Nesna Lobben, 69 € — ankle height. The everyday pair: school run, walking the dog, the yard, indoors at the cottage.

Polar Lobben, 89 € — higher shaft and a deeper-grooved sole. The warmest model, made for standing still in the cold.

Felt Boots 724, 79 € — originally designed for dog sledders. Also available in children's sizes.

Choosing a size

Order 1–2 sizes up from your normal shoe size. Two reasons: the toes do not reach the tip of the felt, and thick wool socks need room. Wool felt has no give, so a boot that is too tight will feel cold no matter how warm the material is.

The boots have no left and right when new. They shape to your feet with wear, which is why a used pair fits better than a new one.

What they are not for

They are not waterproof. Wool felt is made for dry cold, not slush or rain. In wet conditions choose a rubber boot.

Care

Wipe dust off with a dry cloth. Clean the sole with water and a sponge. No machine washing, no dryer, no direct heat — wool felt shrinks and hardens.
