Felt Boots 724 were originally made for dog sledders — people who spend hours outdoors in dry cold, moving slowly and stopping often. That is a demanding brief, and it is the same brief as a winter afternoon with children.
Boiled 100% wool felt is light, warm and breathable. The moulded non-slip sole and wool felt insoles make these outdoor boots rather than house slippers.
For the parent standing still
Children do not get cold outside. Children run. The one who gets cold is the adult waiting at the bottom of the hill, holding the mittens, letting someone else set the pace.
Where they work
The yard, the school run, the dog walk, snowshoeing, the woodshed, the ice rink, indoors at the cottage. Also available in children's sizes.
Choosing a size
Order 1–2 sizes up from your normal shoe size. The toes do not reach the tip of the felt, and thick wool socks need room. Wool felt has no give, so a boot that is too tight will feel cold no matter how warm the material is.
The boots have no left and right when new. They shape to your feet with wear.
What they are not for
They are not waterproof. Wool felt is made for dry cold, not slush or rain. In wet conditions choose a rubber boot.

Care
Wipe dust off with a dry cloth. Clean the sole with water and a sponge. No machine washing, no dryer, no direct heat — wool felt shrinks and hardens.
