A curved wooden board that rocks. That is the whole product, and it is the reason it outlasts almost everything else on the shelf.

Standing on a surface that moves forces constant small corrections from the ankles, the trunk and the inner ear. That is the balance system a child otherwise builds outdoors — and from November to March, indoors, it gets very little practice. A board leaning against the wall gives it back.

In play the board is rarely used as a board. It becomes a bridge, a boat, a slide, a tunnel, a cradle, a shop counter, a stage. Open-ended is why it survives the clear-out that most toys do not.

Which size

Size S has a gentle 125 mm arch, suited to a child finding their feet from around a year old. Size M has a steeper 170 mm arch — more movement, more uses, and it carries an adult.

If you are unsure, choose M. It is the size a child grows into rather than out of, and the one an adult will also stand on.

Good to know

This is the plain-wood version: the underside is bare plywood. On a rug or a soft floor that is exactly right. On parquet, laminate or tile — or in a flat with neighbours below — the felt-base version is the better choice: the felt cushions the contact, quietens the rocking and holds the board more steadily.

Safety: use it on a level surface away from furniture edges, and stay close while a child is learning the movement.
